The Henderson County Performing Arts Center (HCPAC), founded in 1964, is Athens’ acclaimed theatre production company. Since its first production, this theatre company has earned state and regional prominence through its performances and education-based programs.
Formerly known as Athens Little Theatre, HCPAC has been delivering quality stage and musical performances to Henderson County and the region utilizing local talent and seasoned professionals including hometown favorites Donna Bullock, stage and screen star; Christian Stokes, screen star; Heath Schwartz, Broadway publicist; Dylan Godwin, professional stage and Adam Gibbs, professional stage.
HCPAC’s mission is to entertain, to educate and to change lives. The theatre stays true to that mission by 20-year youth program that trains students interested in continuing in the field of theatre arts.
The theater produces six main stage shows and four black box shows each season and brings in numerous musical, dance and theatre shows from other organizations. HCPAC opened a new theater space in 2007 now allowing them two spaces from which to produce theatre events.
The theatre also has a touring company that provides entertainment statewide and is available to other theatres, organization and country clubs.
