The Light Up Athens committee will host Holiday on the Square, a holiday celebration on the courthouse square.

The event will include a time to enjoy the decoration, story time, Holiday Market, arts and crafts for children along with many more activities.

There will be time to visit with Santa. The event will end with the lighting of the Christmas Tree. Bring your cameras and enjoy the late afternoon. 

Schedule of Events

4 p.m. Holiday Market,  Arts & Crafts for Children, and  Face Painting

4:30 p.m. Puppet Show

5 p.m.-5:45 p.m. Storyteller 

6 p.m. Tree Lighting Ceremony

Beginning on December 1st, the Santa House will be open the following dates and times: 

December 1: 6 p.m.-7 p.m.
December 4: 5 p.m. -8 p.m.
December 6: 5 p.m.-8 p.m.
December 8: 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
December 11: 5 p.m.-8 p.m.
December 13: 5 p.m.-8 p.m.
December 15: 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
December 18: 5 p.m.-8 p.m.
December 20: 5 p.m.-8 p.m.
December 22: 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

The Santa House is located downtown on the Courthouse Square. Stop by and visit with Santa!
