The annual Christmas Parade, Magical Christmas in downtown Athens, is sponsored by the City of Athens and will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 6.
Parade entries will include local businesses, church groups, civic/non profit groups, school groups, single/individual entries, and marching bands.
The parade will depart the TVCC parking lot onto W. Ben Belt Dr., turn north on S. Palestine Street toward the downtown square, turn west onto W. Tyler Street and south onto S. Prairieville Street, and will end at the TVCC parking lot.
Parade entry forms are available at City Hall and online at www.AthensTexas.us.
4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Holiday on the Square, sponsored by the Light Up Athens committee and will include a Holiday Market, arts and crafts for children, visits with Santa, and more.
6:30 p.m. Christmas Parade
30 minutes after the parade, winners will be announced at the judges' staging area in downtown Athens (sponsored by Republic Services and Kevin Lilly's McDonald's)
8 p.m. (approximately) Christmas Parade Street Celebration, sponsored by local churches and will include a petting zoo, bounce houses and displays
